About
Websites for trades on the I-35 corridor
Take I-35 north from Austin and the highway runs straight through Round Rock. Most of the city sits in Williamson County, with a small part to the south, along I-35, in Travis County.
I'm Carter Fletcher, a website designer for the trades: HVAC companies, plumbers, roofers, tree services, pool and landscaping crews, electricians and installers.
My website design starts from one question: once a homeowner finds your site, how easily can they reach you? Everything else on the site serves that answer. Hiring me isn't like hiring a web design company with layers of staff: the one who reads your setup is the one who builds your site.
I'm based in Austin and build websites for home service businesses wherever they are. It all happens online, so working together is easy from anywhere.

Pecan Street Pools Sample business
Pecan Street Pools is a made-up Austin pool company, built the way I'd build yours: a call button on every phone screen, pages for the main services and a quote form.
The city and its neighbors
A Round Rock address doesn't always mean inside the city
The City's own page for new residents points out that a postal address doesn't show whether a home is inside the city limits. Outside them, water and sewer can come from a well and a septic system on the property, or from a municipal utility district.
A plumber called out there may find a well and a septic system, not city water and sewer. Your site meets the same blurry line. Customers name where they live in their own words: a subdivision, a part of the county, the next town over. In setup you list the towns and areas you work in, and the first few after your main town get pages of their own.
I-35 runs north to Georgetown, and TxDOT has proposed one project for the stretch between the two, from SH 29 to SH 45 North. US 79 starts at I-35 here and heads east past Hutto toward Taylor. Pflugerville sits to the southeast, across the Travis County line.
So good web design here starts from your main services, each with a page of its own. If you fix well pumps or septic lines past the city limits, make that one of them, and its page can use the words those homeowners search with.

Questions
What trade owners ask me about their site
Which plan should a home service business start on, and what does it cost?
I'd point most trades to Website + Google. It adds care for your own Google Business Profile: two posts with photos a month, an answer to every review, and review requests to your customers. No profile yet? You create it at google.com/business, since Google needs the owner to do that, then invite me as a manager. Website alone, the lowest plan, is $197 a month; Website + Google costs more than that.
Will my site work for customers searching on their phone?
Yes. Someone with a flooded laundry room or a dead AC unit is usually holding a phone, not sitting at a desk. On every site I build, each phone screen shows a button that calls you. If they'd rather write, the quote form sends their details to your email and your portal.
Can my real Google reviews show on my website?
Yes, with your OK. Setup has a box for it, “Show my Google reviews on my website”, and it starts ticked. Untick it and I leave them off. They come from your own Google profile, written by your customers, never by me. On Website + Google, I also answer each one.
I already have a website. Can you replace it?
Yes. In setup, you give me your current site's address, and I look at it for ideas. If you already own your domain, it stays yours. Your current site and email keep working while I build, and you review a preview of the new one before it takes over.
