Web Design in Buda, TX

Buda, TX pool builders, landscapers, plumbers and electricians: I build websites for work the street can see and work behind walls. The Texas Legislature named Buda the official Outdoor Capital of Texas.

About

Work the street can see, and work behind the walls

At home, the outdoors is somebody's job too. A pool builder, a landscaper or a tree crew leaves work the whole street can see. A plumber, an electrician or an HVAC tech mostly works out of sight: inside a wall, under a slab, up in the attic.

I'm Carter, a website designer for both kinds of trade, and each kind needs something different from a website. Outside work lets your own photos do the talking: the finished yard, the trimmed oak, the new pool. Hidden work needs plain words: what the job is and what it fixes. In my website design, the side of the wall your work is on decides which one leads.

I'm based in Austin and build websites for home service businesses wherever they are. It all happens online, so working together is easy from anywhere.

Pecan Street Pools Sample business

Pecan Street Pools is a made-up Austin pool company, built the way I'd build yours: a call button on every phone screen, pages for the main services and a quote form.

The historic overlay

A step some outside jobs need first

Some outside work in Buda comes with an extra step. The city has a Historic Overlay District, and anyone making exterior changes to a property inside it needs a certificate of appropriateness. It comes before any building permit or construction work.

Depending on the job, the city's Historic Preservation Officer can approve it, or it goes to the Historic Preservation Commission. The city has adopted design guidelines for building in the district, and its Historic Buda map shows which properties fall inside.

Those guidelines have parts on roofs and on fences, so this touches roofers and fence installers who work there. They're mostly about the fronts of buildings and the sides you can see from the street. That's outside work in the plainest sense. If you've been through the step, say so on your roofing or fence page.

How it works

  1. 1Start

I talk with you about your business and what you need.

You pick a plan and pay by card or bank account.

  2. 2Build

You fill in a short, easy setup in your portal, and I build your site from your answers and your photos.

You review your preview, with one round of changes.

  3. 3Grow

I launch your site on your own domain.

Your portal keeps your leads, your edit requests and your messages with me.

Reasonable small edits are included, like new text, hours, prices, photos or a new service. Bigger jobs, like a new section or a redesign, are quoted first.

Questions

Questions worth asking any web designer

Will I deal with you, or get handed to someone else?

You deal with me. Fletch isn't a web design company with an account manager in the middle; it's one person, and nobody new takes over once you sign up. Your messages and edit requests come to me through your portal. If something on your site looks wrong, the person you tell is the person who built it.

My prices change. Can I keep them current on my site?

Yes. If you list prices on your site, updating them is a small edit, and every plan covers reasonable small edits. Say your trip charge for jobs out toward Dripping Springs goes up: send the new figure as an edit request, and I update the page. Rather not list prices at all? Leave them off, and let the quote form do the asking.

Is hosting part of the price, or a separate bill?

Part of the price. Every plan includes hosting, upkeep and your own domain, and plans start at $197 a month. No hosting company bills you on the side, and there's no hosting account for you to open or renew. I host your site and keep it running.

Will my site end up looking like everyone else's?

Not where it counts. My web design works from your setup answers: your services, your towns and, if you add them, a few lines about you. The photos are your own jobs, and your colors run through the site. Two landscapers, one in Buda and one in Manchaca, could share a plan, and each site would still show its own yards, its own crew and its own towns.
