One lake house, a long list of trades

The city says Lakeway began as a place to retire or keep a weekend home, and that families now come for the lake life too. Either way, one house by the lake can call on a lot of trades: a plumber inside, a pool tech out back, a landscaper for the yard and a dock installer at the water.

I'm Carter, a website designer for every trade on that list, and for electricians and roofers too. Out here, the lake can end up in your job photos: a pool with the water behind it, or a yard that runs down to the shore. You send those photos to me, the one who builds your site, because Fletch SEO is a one-person studio, not a web design company.

Lake Travis, high and low

Low water, high water and the docks in between

When the lake drops, the water pulls back from the shore. The dock standards of the Lower Colorado River Authority (LCRA) generally limit a Lake Travis dock to 100 feet from the shoreline. A dock can't reach past that just to save moving it. So a floating dock may have to follow the water out.

When a flood comes, the shoreline climbs, and a dock can end up farther out than 100 feet. While it is, LCRA requires it to be lit from sunset to sunrise. The same standards ban wiring strung over open water: power, TV and phone lines alike. So dock lights are a job for an electrician who knows those rules.

Both ends of that swing belong in your website design. A dock installer can show the same dock at high water and at low. An electrician can show a dock lit end to end with no wire over the water. Photos like those tell a lake homeowner you've worked this shoreline before.

Questions

A lake business wants to know

Do you charge more for a business out on the lake?

No. My web design plans and prices are the same on every town page, on the shore or off it. The Website plan is $197 a month for a dock installer in Lakeway or a plumber in Bee Cave or The Hills. The town changes what your pages say, not what you pay.

My work slows down in the off-season. Can I stop and come back later?

Yes. There's no contract, so when the slow months come, you can cancel any time. Once your paid month runs out, the site goes offline, call button and quote form included. I don't delete your pages or photos, so when the work picks back up, you can come back.

Someone at my shop already answers the phone. Do I need Voice AI?

Maybe not. Voice AI only picks up when nobody else does, so it backs your person up instead of replacing them. Its work is the calls that slip past, like the ones over lunch or after you close. If your person catches nearly all of those, you can skip it. Only two plans include it, and nothing makes you pick one.

What if a customer leaves me a bad review?

Answer it, calmly and in plain words. On Website + Google and Full Service, that's my job: I answer every review, the hard ones included, so the next homeowner reads your side beside the complaint. Whether a review comes down is Google's call, not mine. Review requests also go out to the customers you add, so the unhappy one isn't the only one asked.
